House Guidelines
Garbage
Please do not leave any trash or smelly foods outside, as bears will come for a visit and make a mess of it. We do not have a trash can or dumpster at the property.
If your stay is longer than five days, we can pick up and dispose of any trash upon your request.
You are welcome to dump trash at the Divide Transfer Station:

Please tell them you are staying at 219 Lake Drive W, Divide CO 80814 and the account name is Kelly Godsey.
Water Usage
Colorado is currently experiencing a severe drought year. As a mountain home on a well system, our water supply is a shared and limited resource. We kindly ask that you help us conserve by keeping showers shorter and turning off the water while brushing teeth.
Your mindfulness helps ensure a comfortable stay for you and future guests.
Thermostat
Please leave the thermostat between 55–75 degrees. The whole house humidifier will run even when the thermostat isn't on. When you check out, please turn the thermostat down to 60 degrees.
There are two split units in the upstairs bedrooms that are run by the remotes in the bedroom. Please keep the minimum setting to 60 degrees and don't ever turn them off.
Hot Tub
Please shower without soap before use and wipe any debris off your feet before getting in. Keep the lid on, with the rocks on top or clipped, when not in use. Empty one chemical cup directly into the hot tub filter before each use.
Please note that the hot tub area is not out of view from others in sight.
Television & Smart Speaker
The Smart TV can be used with HDMI to your personal device or through digital platforms (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, or whatever you have subscriptions for). Please make sure to log out of all of your accounts on your checkout day.
To connect to just the speaker for music, use your device to connect with Apple Airplay (this is not a Bluetooth device).
Pet Policy
We are happy that your furry friend could join you! We just ask that you:
Pick up after them when they go to the bathroom
Don't leave them unattended in the house unless they are crated
Don't let them on any furniture
Keep them leashed while outside (we have a lot of wildlife)
We would love to see photos of your pup enjoying their stay!
Altitude Sickness
Altitude sickness occurs when your body doesn't have time to adjust properly to lower oxygen availability at higher elevations. Symptoms include feeling lightheaded, nausea, headache, fatigue, trouble sleeping, and vision changes.
If you are feeling any of these symptoms, we highly recommend drinking a lot of water and keeping your body hydrated. We supply one can of oxygen located in the left cabinet underneath the sink in the laundry room. Please replace the oxygen can with a new one before you check out.
In severe cases, we recommend driving down to Colorado Springs where the elevation is lower. We recommend booking an appointment at Elevation Hydration:
Elevation Hydration
4337 North Academy Blvd #110
Colorado Springs, CO 80918
(719) 428-5018
They offer IV Hydration Therapy to help eliminate altitude sickness.
Tap Water
The tap water is delicious and safe to drink!
